Surf Sports

Surf sports are a great way to not only improve your lifesaving skills but also to actively participate in a healthy lifestyle. Each season there is an opportunity for our members to participate at a club, branch, state, national and even international level. Athletes can compete in a full range of beach and water events, pool rescue events, surf boats, surf board riding events, and in winter in the inflatable rescue boat (IRB) series.

Surf Life Saving Mid North Coast hosts three carnivals each season, including the prestigious Branch Championships. These carnivals include events for competitors from 7 years to masters as well as events for surf boats.

Surf Life Saving New South Wales hosts two key events held each summer, the Country Championships; open to athletes living outside the Hunter-Sydney-Central Coast-Illawarra corridor, and the State Championships that caters for competitors aged 9 to 65+. All carnivals are held on a rotating place and are among the biggest of its type in NSW with in excess of 7000 people participating over the course of the State Championships.

Senior Point Score is held every Sunday morning at 10am during the surf life saving season. This is a time for members to practise their race skills in a variety of events in a fun and encouraging environment.

All carnival venues are held on a rotating basis. South West Rocks Surf Life Saving Club has held many major carnivals, more than any other club on the Mid North Coast.
